Mahesh Tahilyani is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and an Information System Analyst from India and a Cost and Management Accountant from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountant, UK.
Since 28th April, 2016, he is Managing Director for Forbes and Company Limited, which is a subsidiary of Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Private Limited. Forbes is one of the few companies of the group listed on the stock exchange.
Prior to the above move, he was with SP group as a Group Financial Controller since 2009. In addition to overseeing certain businesses of SP Group as part of the Management Board he has functionally been involved in activities covering Financial Performance management, Investment Management, Capital allocation in addition to overseeing Business controls, MIS Reporting, supporting the Board in acquisitions (Incl. due diligences), restructuring, SAP Implementation and also supporting the major business across group in Indirect Taxes. He was also handling the Information Technology Function and was responsible to getting the SAP ACE Award 2015 for SPCPL for the SAP implementation of the company.
Prior to this, he has total experience of around 22 years with a multinational organization in areas of Finance and Control, Budgeting, Commercial, Governance, Internal Audit Risk Management, Business Process Reengineering and Corporate Planning including setting up a Shared Service Center for a multinational in India to handle its North American operations related to Finance, Accounting and Purchasing.
He has also been a speaker for various topics at forums like IQPC (Singapore), IQPC (Hyderabad), IIM Udaipur etc.
He has had an illustrious career in Indian Civil Service for over 3 decades. He was the Director General of Shipping and helped formulate the National Shipping Policy that encouraged private investments in the Indian Maritime Sector.
As the Chairman of the JNPT Port he was instrumental in the tremendous growth and investment in the port.
Mr. Pinto also held the post of Secretary of the Shipping Ministry, and Vice Chairmen of the council of the IMO during his serving years.
He is currently a Director on the Board of several companies in the private sector.
An Engineering Graduate from IIT Kharagpur with First Class Honours, MBA from Madras University, and Diploma in Bank Management, the Highest Banking Qualification in India, from Indian Institute of Bankers. Before joining Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1998, held various senior positions in Bank of India, Shipping Credit and Investment Corporation of India, and ICICI. Extensively traveled in Africa, Europe, East Asia and Middle East for negotiating / concluding business deals and arranging funds required for projects.
Presently with Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Pvt. Ltd. as Advisor – Group Finance & Special Projects and Director in various Companies of Shapoorji Pallonji Group, besides heading the Group’s AFRICA BUSINESS CENTRE (ABC).
Mr. Khanna joined SP Group in February 2012. His role, is to work closely with the Promoters as well as Group Companies to drive SP Group-wide initiatives, facilitate forging synergy amongst SP Group Companies, provide expert inputs/ advise to the Business Heads on matters relating to technology, business development, market expansion, commercial and contracts management, strategic alliances and drive management of external stakeholders including network relationship with policy makers at Central Government level.
Mr. Khanna is an electrical engineer from Agra University and completed his Masters in System Engineering & Operations Research, from IIT Roorkee. He is also an MBA specializing in Marketing from University of Hull, UK. He has over 30 years of experience in launching and expanding businesses & markets, business policy & planning and in International Marketing and Contracts Management for power and non-power industries. He worked with BHEL for 27 years starting as an Engineer and rising to the position of Regional Manager & AGM - International operations based out of Jakarta, Indonesia.
Mrs. Rani Ajit Jadhav, IAS (retd.), worked for 38 years in the Indian Administrative Service before retiring in 2008 from the position of the Chairperson, Mumbai Port Trust in the rank of Secretary, Government of India. During this period of 38 years she held a number of senior positions in government both at the federal and state levels and therefore well acquainted with all aspects of public administration in India. Mrs. Jadhav was associated with the highest levels of decision making in government and contributed significantly to policy formulation during her tenure. Mrs. Jadhav has been a Non-Executive Independent Director of Merck Limited since February 05, 2015. Mrs. Jadhav serves as Director of Shreyas Relay Systems Limited now, rechristened, Avana Logistek Ltd. Mrs. Jadhav was a Member on Reserve Bank of India's Empowered Committee for External Commercial Borrowings and Chairperson of the Tariff Authority for major Ports post her retirement.
