Mrs. Rani Jadhav


Mrs. Rani Ajit Jadhav worked for 38 years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) before retiring in 2008 from the position of Chairperson, Mumbai Port Trust in the rank of Secretary, Government of India.

During this period of 38 years in the IAS Mrs. Jadhav held a number of senior positions in government both at the federal and state levels and is thereforewell acquainted with all aspects of public administration in India. In 1992-95, as Joint Secretary in the Finance Ministry, she handled all themultilateralinstitutions and was the central government’s point person for the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. In 1996-98 she was Joint Secretary (Finance) in the Department of Atomic Energy and looked after the affairs of over half a dozen high profile public sector undertakings reporting to that department.

Post her retirement from the IAS Mrs. Jadhav was appointed by the Government of India as Chairperson of the Tariff Authority for Major Ports. In addition she also served as a Member on the Reserve Bank of India’s Empowered Committee for External Commercial Borrowings

Mrs. Jadhav was associated with the highest levels of decision making in government and contributed significantly to policy formulation during her tenures in various positions. She has been a Non-Executive Independent Director of Merck Limited (now Proctor & Gamble Health) since February 05, 2015 and also serves as Independent Director of Avana Logistek Ltd. and Forbes & Company.
